Progress on The Wormton Lamb

While The Horsepower Whisperer lurches towards production, I am working my way through The Wormton Lamb, reading out loud. I find this quickly identifies any clumsy word constructions. If it doesn't sound right, it isn't right. I visualise myself reading out to an auditorium full of people and as soon as they hear any awkward passages they cringe and pull faces.

Doing this in the comfort of my home should prevent this happening for real. I believe I should be able to read out every section of my books without the sinking feeling that I may have expressed myself better, or even at all!

Next door's collie dog likes it, too. He's escaped his owners again and sits looking through the glass of my French window - note the singular, I can't run to a pair. Collies give the impression of understanding every word and I think he's fascinated by the passage about the three-headed collies.
